I have spent the evening in the company of these two fella's and believe me, they are a match made in heaven. Alan sent me the latest incarnation of the FireBottle valve phono stage (The FireBottle Plus) to play at Nebo 4. However, it has been on duty in my home system since it arrived.

Grant, you had a Whest Two, right? I would be interested if your experience is similar to mine, going from a SS phono stage to a valve phono stage and found the whole experience more organic. I have never owned a Whest but had extended trials and demos and found them to be accurate, quiet and truthful, but the valves just seem to bring the singer into the room. I take it you prefer the firebottle?

Night and day as far as enjoyment is concerned Andrei. the whest was as you say very accurate and truthful but lacked any real involvement in my opinion. it was also a bit low in output for my taste.
The Firebottle plus is a real eyeopener for soundstage and drive.I had mine fettled during the build to give me normal and high output MM stages, and with the plugging in of a couple of plugs, the high reverts to a MC. this really gives it flexability for me as well.
