Speaker cone repair

Does anyone know how to repair a very small tear on a paper speaker cone?
The tear hasn't gone right through, so it's more like a heavy scratch.

I'd dab it with a lightly moistened cotton bud, allow the moisture to soak through for a minute or two, then gently massage the back of the cone with a fingernail to raise the depression and then leave it to dry. There may be slight water marking depending of the type of paper and finish. I have actually done this.
