I have only just heard about the death of Johnny Winter who died in Zurich last Wednesday, age 70.

I remember seeing Johnny Winter many years ago at one of the Bath Festivals (probably 1970) and enjoying his act: one feature of which was him swirling his long white hair around under a strobe light whilst playing his guitar; very psychedelic! He was one of those performers who was best seen live. Whilst I have a number of his records, even the live recordings do not live up the experience of actually seeing him perform live.
Winter went on to be an accomplished and well-regarded blues artist. He also produced records for Muddy Waters.
RIP Johnny, you will be missed.
