Yup, yet another one of those disposable weather threads.... :eyebrows:
By gum its warm!!! I'd go out into the garden but I'm worried I'll end up looking like a chargrilled Hippo.... :eek:
cloudy but warmish up here with an occasional 25mph breeze
If you shed your threads, make sure there's no-one of a sensitive constitution within eyeshot!! :eyebrows:

I thought it might cool down after the rain but it's got worse. I was sweating my cobs of in bed last night.

An indicated 30c on the thermometer under the tree in the garden (in the shade), and humid? I tell ya, you could wring a good gallon of water from a handful of air I reckon... :eek:

Its way too hot for me but then I find anything much above 20c uncomfortable ! Was looking for an air conditioning unit but balked at the 2000w power consumption :stalks:

We've got a fan that size switched on right now (whilst sipping an ice-cold glass of cider) - the heat would be unbearable without it!

From what I'm seeing on the weather radar we may not have to wait that long. There are a mass of storms currently marching towards the NW coast of France at a good clip... :eyebrows:

Me too. Got a bit sunburnt yesterday doing a bit of building work in the garden. Today is far too hot for my liking. I've always said I'm never uncomfortable in winter, only in summer.
Me too... I'd rather be sat in front of a roaring log fire, when it's minus 15 degrees and snowing outside, than sweating my bollocks off in this sticky type of heat!
As they say, you can always warm up by putting more clothes on, but once yer bollock-naked, yet still sweltering hot, well................

Just returned from the 2014 Chelmsford CAMRA Summer Beer Festival. Spent five hours there, enjoying a few beers with friends and former work collegues. It was probably about 27 deg C but there was a light breeze, so sitting outside was very pleasant and comfortable. :)
Even so, I was using SF 25 sun-cream and wearing a 'bush' hat. I have experienced sun stroke in North Africa - and it's not a pleasant experience, so I take precautions now to prevent it happening again.

Just checked the radar again and these storms will be hitting the south coast within the next hour... Brighton looks as if it will be the centre of attention but expect lightning and heavy rain in coastal areas between Southampton and Deal around the same time. Christo, I'm turning into Michael Fish... STOPPIT!!!! :lol:

No, I admire what CAMRA do, but I'm not that much of a beer connoisseur. I appreciate real-ale though and use these occasions to sample brews that are new to me. But the main excuse is to meet up with friends, down some good beer and have a good time. :)
Well, I was a little off, the storms made landfall between Selsey and Hastings. The edge is now around 15 miles due south of the southern M25 corridor. London should be getting wet in around 40mins or so ;)

Well the rain has just started and there's been the odd distant flash of lightning in the distance. It will develop I guess.
Indeed, the storm front looks impressive on the radar. A line of storms has just begun to develop north of the Cotswolds so judging by the prevailing winds we should be receiving the advanced guard around midnight here in Northants. Currently the main storm is covering Kent and Sussex completely :eyebrows:

You might be okay Geoff, the main storm (and the monsters?) is to the east of central London moving northwards so perhaps there won't be much of a light show this evening ;)

I moan of the long, wet and freezing winter (3 months of it every year)...
Sit outside and have a beer.:cool: (we don't get a chance very often, do we?)
No moaning here (apart from the unbearable humidity that is) and personally I love a good thunderstorm. Before I fugged my back up I would go out and watch, no chance of that these days though :(

Lol... The problem is our houses aren't set up for very hot weather, what with having thick carpets, curtains, etc, and no air conditioning. Abroad, in the likes of Spain or Italy, houses have cool marble floors and wooden shutters on the windows, to keep the sun out (and hence the rooms nice and cool), or some have air-con.
The sunshine during the day is lovely, but the heat and humidity that's built up over many hours in the process makes it very uncomfortable sleeping at night, especially when you live in a 19th century lodge with massively thick walls, which retain the heat like no-one's business, subsequently turning all the rooms into ovens!! ;)

I'm seriously thinking about cooking our Sunday roast, here, in this room, tonight. It's like mission control, Pasadena in here and all that equipment puts out quite a bit of heat. So glad I didn't keep the Valhalla valve amp I used to own, now that thing could form the basis of a half decent central heating system.. :lol:

I'm from Portugal (Algarve) living in the UK for 4 years now. Luckily my house (new built) is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. However acoustically is shite as I have no solid walls (all plasterboard). that got me out of buying some Linn Kan's...

Our house is great for room acoustics (making the hi-fi sound fab), and being very cosy in the winter (we have an inglenook fireplace and a real log fire), but crap in the summer for keeping cool - especially in the rooms upstairs, where heat rises!

Why? I'm not keen on the Kans myself (bit like an LS3/5a with the refinement sucked out). The Linn Sara's are fun, if very coloured and power needy. Not sure how your environment would cope though.

Raining here like it is going out of fashion, got soaked coming back from the shop. Still lovely and warm though. All of you complaining it is too hot PM me your addresses and I will mail you a free can of 'Man-Up'. ;)
When I was in the Indies on my hols I used to turn the air-con off. Mmmmm......eighty five degrees :) you can't fault it.

Heat I can cope with, heat with high humidity is absolute torture for me... :eyebrows:
I have a humidity meter right here in the living room. As you do. Currently a notch over 60%. I could reduce that a bit if I opened a window but I don't want to get chilly...

Hotter the better as far as I'm concerned.....
I love the weather just the way it is.... humidity not too bad on the South Coast....
Had 2 weeks away, just returned, and the weather was superb
Had a couple of swims in the sea at Weymouth....lovely...!!! very chilly at first but once you get your shoulders under it was nice and warm :thumbsup:
