I need to make up two cables.
I have the MC5000 and some MS Audio RCA plugs, but I need a couple of XLR plugs.
What is the best VFM XLR plug to give me a giant killing cable?

Hi Kevin,

The Neutrik connectors Mark Grant uses on his Canare XLR cables are excellent, and not expensive: http://markgrantcables.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=43_5&products_id=147

I'm sure he'd sell you some for a good price - or you might even be better just buying the whole cable from him, as the Canare stuff (especially the XLR cables) are excellent!

Marco.

P.S Well done for showing up 'hypocrite boy' for what he is - I think you'll know what I mean! ;)

Thanks Marco.
I'll have a look elsewhere on the web as well.

Is there any length restriction on these cables?
Could I make up a long I/C (about 5 to 6m) and run a shirt length of speaker cable from the amp to the speaker?

Should be fine as long as your pre can drive that length of cable ok.

My cables are all made up, ready for the delivery of my new amps. Using Neutrik silver plated XLR connectors and MS Audio RCA's with the MC5000 running in between. Speaker cables are 1m long Van Damme 6mm cables fitted with Z plugs.
I hope this lot will sound rather splendid.
