View Full Version : WTD: Rega Planar 2/3 or similar, with or without arm?

I'm considering getting some sort of temporary TT going whilst my 401 awaits restoration, which could be awhile! Does anyone have any sort of old Rega deck hanging around, Planar 2/3 or P2/P3. Condition not that important as long as there is no major damage, as I will be renovating it - can be with or without arm and would prefer an RB250. Needs to be affordable though as I'm on a tight budget?

Thanks

Hi Gerald, I think with all those upgrades I wouldn't be able to offer you what you hope for. I have a possible to view over the weekend, so if that falls through I'll get back to you?

Thanks for the reply.

With an arm though, may be over budget for Tim.

Nice sounding decks those especially in mid range.. Tim might even end up keeping it. You can still buy the armboards, Michell just made me one for SME pattern.

Main mechanical difference between the 'Syncro' & 'Mycro' is the 'Syncro' has masterfully engineered plate glass platter with green felt mat, the 'Mycro' has an inverted bearing with 'Gyro' style platter. I still think the 'Syncro' is the most pretty of all.

However i think Tim goes for a deck with Darth vader looks, 'Syncro' might be a bit bright/clean cut looking..

That's a nice deck André for sure (the Mycro), didn't realise that Michell would make an SME armboard for those earlier models, that's a top tip fella especially as I have a 3009. I guess that's an early version of their current TecnoDec?

(Darth Vader looks eh? but you are right, the looks of the Syncro are a bit too 'busy' for me, you know me too well! ;))

Hi Gerry. I think Andr'e was asking you what exactly you were offering . No criticism, but I'm not sure what you were saying.
