Hi all, I'm looking for a Claymore amplifier. Any advice would be most welcome.

Inca Tech Claymore ? There's not been many for sale recently that I've seen.
Tried one for the first time earlier this year, not all they're cracked up to be IMO. A Myst TMA3 or Onix OA21 would bury it.

Apologies if this is unwelcome but, talking of Myst, a friend is selling a pair of Myst mono-blocks with off-board power supply. If interested send me a pm and I will give you his number.

Thanks chaps.
I am only wanting the Claymore for the preamp section. I bought the Tellurium Q Iridium power amp a few months ago and it's to partner with that. The Iridium is a stupidly good amplifier, my jaw was on the floor again last night ;-)

The Myst 'G-Ohm' you mean?

I disagree. My Claymore knocked my Onix OA21 into the long grass. I've not heard the Myst TMA3 but understand that they are quite special.

TBH, I'm not sure. Certainly there is no pre-amp, just the mono-blocks and ps. You can see them as they sneaked into the first photo in the Cyrus pre thread :)

Different strokes... I won't elaborate on why I thought it was rubbish as this is a wanted ad & I think that would be thread crapping.

If any of you get the opportunity to hear the TQ Iridium, I'd jump at the chance

The 'G-Ohm' was a modular system. The standard configuration was Pair of Mono-blocks/Pre/PSU.. The other one was the 'stage life' {SL} amp which was Tube Pre amp/Hybird Power amp..

Nice amp, but ultimately a bit boring imo.

Hi Paul
If funds were tight what would you recommend partnering the Iridium with ?
What are you using now ?
A passive pot should work well.

I'm using a Glasshouse passive, yes it does work extremely well, I was just wanting to see if an active pre gives more flesh on the bones. Saying that I can't possible imagine more of what I have, but you never know
I use an Inca Designs ID1P which is superb, but only a few were ever built.
A Croft Micro Basic might be worth trying.

Was that the rack mount pre that went with the 'ID25'/'50'/'75' Power amps?
Yes, i bought it many years ago with an ID75 Power amp.
