Help please just had my SL1210 for about four weeks mod`s made so far are a ADC head shell,Kad fluid dampener,,Sl1210 and a Arcromat the one with the lip for the platter.

I have aligned the cartridge using the Vinyl Engine`s Technics protractor bur for some reason when playing certain records about third away through tracking issues happen best way to describe it is the record skips also if I play the same record on my p3 the rega place the track no problem if I then cue to next track record tracks perfect :doh::doh:

I am using a AT95 cartridge set at 1.7 there is a brand new stylus fitted the only thing I can see is that the arm is slopping forward and even adjusting the vta on the Techinis arm does not cure it any ideas please.

at95 needs something like 2.2gr for best performance. I believe 1.8gr is the minimum

A bit obvious but there could be an anti-skate issue. You can play around with that. Also it may not be working and could be tricky to repair. You can use a vinyl record that has no grooves on one side to test the anti-skate. They are hard to find though and I do not have one. Although difficult to do find a record that has a short playing time, and use the run-out section to test the anti-skate.

The AT95E should track well at 1.8g or so as the goof few I had through my paws should confirm. Any heavier and the sound closes up too much. 2g is a safe bet for suspect tonearms though.

One thing to check please. Balance the arm out so the stylus 'floats' just above the top of the mat and set bias to zero. Gently blow the headshell from the side and ensure the arm moves freely in towards the centre (and back if the bias doesn't fully disengage). There must be NO stiction at all and no bearing rattles either!

The inner null point for alignment is a smidge under 60mm on the techie tonearm. Below is a chart showing tracing error on a techie, the stock setting compared to the alternative popular alignments using this arm. The outer null point is largely irrelevant since the tracing speed is higher at beginning of side, thus mostly negating errors here. End-of-side is crucial to get optimised IMO.
