I currently have a 34 & 303 but they are best described as old bangers... Got a little windfall coming my way & looking to "invest" in some nice condition examples.
Primarily looking for mint/vgc examples of 33, FM3 & 303 but am also interested in 34, 44 & 405-2. Actual working condition doesn't matter but cosmetic condition is key here.
Please get in touch if you have something you think might be suitable :)
Are you planning to do what I already do - treat old Quad gear as "objets d'art"? I have done this with the Quad 33/FM2/FM3/AM3 (all in the Quad wood double sleeve), as well as having a couple of 303s, 50Es and a couple of 405s. Since they all work, they serve as a back-up should any of my present gear fail.
One of my prized Quad items is the venerable AM1. :)

Aye i will never get rid of my '33'/'FM3'/'303'/'50E's.. Timeless pieces even though i don't use em.. I dunno about the other riff raff you mentioned :D

Thats pretty much it Barry, although they will be given a sympathetic restoration & pressed into active duty every now & then ;)

Riff raff !? I'll admit they have neither the charm or style but are still of interest... To me :)
. . . treat old Quad gear as "objets d'art"?
There's something about them isn't there Barry - I have a superb condition 405-2 just serviced by QUAD and a 34, also superb cosmetically but needs a service. I rarely use them, but don't want to part with them either. Silly really, but I'm sure I would regret it if I did.
My mate has a full set of 33 303 and tuner ... tbh he hardly uses it and nearly sold it a couple of weeks ago..talked him out of it as not sure what they are worth. Sounds pretty good tbh although not my cup of tea.....actually I fancy it for myself....lol
Hi James, I have a 606 Mk1 in original condition. Never been serviced but working fine.

Micro switch press buttons indeed  you can't beat the old mechanical clunky press buttons of the '33' & best of all no IC's, no LED's. Call me old fashioned but the less to go wrong the better.. I'm religious in the fact that in my eyes the '33'/'FM3'/'303'/'ESL-57' were the best products they ever made. I could not care less what audio guys think about them.

Thank you for the offer but I'm only after the models listed in the OP :)

:exactly:
Fun for me to play around with but the 33/FM3/303 are the primary interest as stated in the OP :)

If I had seen that image when I joined AoS I would have probably chosen it as my 'avatar'. I wonder if you can get it on a mug?

I saw Meatloaf @ the NEC Birmingham :o I didn't want to see him you understand, my boss at the time invited me so it was more of a brown nosing exercise... Give Meat his due though, he was quite entertaining.
