Ideally the wood fronted ones but not overly fussed.

Must be in very good working and cosmetic condition with good foams though please.

Thanks for looking :)

I have a pair bought about 10 years ago with rotted bass unit foams, have been meaning to repair as initial testing they appeared to sound very good. Might fix them at some point, but can't say when at the moment. I also have a pair of AP2's with the same problem.

There's been about 3 pairs on eBay in recent weeks so worth keeping an eye out there. Have you considered Heybrook HB1's at all ? They are from the same period & share the same 8" Vifa driver... I've found them to be preferable to the JPW's which was a surprise as I really like those.

The AP3's seem to be constructed quite well, cabinets are good, with bitumen damping panels glued on the inside as LS3/5a etc. and nice quality inductors.

Are you offering them for sale Alex ?

If you are, what condition are the drivers (all original ?) and cabs in and what finish are the speakers ?

How much ?

Thanks

Just spotted these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JPW-pair-speaker-monitors-Immaculate-black-ash-Made-in-England-Hi-Fi-/351121604602?pt=UK_AudioVideoElectronics_HomeAudio HiFi_HiFiSpeakers&hash=item51c07a7ffa

They have the original box so may be persuaded to let a courier collect ?

They look a bargain, look a fair bit smaller than the AP3. Possibly vinyl wrap finish?

Correct on both counts... Still good for the money though & much better than the "mini monitor" IMO.

The foams don't look too bad, so worth it for the bass units alone.

Yes, much better than the Mini Monitor, but the Gold Monitor with a little extra damping in it is fun.

That reminds me, I have a pair of HB1's in the garage which need sorting, think I paid a fiver for them from the tip. bass drivers need re-foaming and the grills are long gone, as per...

I've had the Monitors / Mini-Monitors, more fun than hi-fi. Really after the AP3's chaps but good ones seem to be few and far between.
