On his travels my brother picked up an old valve TV today, it contains a Mullard ECC82 & ECC83, which will be added to the spares draw, my question is are the following valves worth keeping for HiFi use, (they're all Mullard)?

B91,
EF80 x 5,
PCF80,
PCC84,
PCL82
PY33.

TIA.

No not really - those valves are largely unique to TVs. You're right in keeping the ECC82 and ECC83 valves though.

I use a PCF80 but then I do take a different approach to the 'norm'.

The rest you can forget,

Cheers,

Thanks for the replies gents, I guess you can't win them all but late 1950's ECC82 & ECC83 aren't a bad consolation prize.

Let me know if you want it Alan, you can have it if you pay the postage, can't tell you anything about it other than it lights up.
