Pair of Quad II amplifiers for sale. Recently serviced by myself with high quality/reliable component replacements to the original circuit/specs. No dubious 'upgrades' or circuit changes. Comes with original set of GEC KT66s (not shown in these pics - will get some up shortly), Mullard GZ32s and EF86s. Sounds fabulous - willing to demo.
Visual condition I'd describe as v.good, a few scuffs & scrapes commensurate with their age, but all original, and no extra holes drilled in the chassis or any 'mods'.
I'm looking for £650 for the pair. Considering pairs of Quad IIs often go for this amount on Ebay without any valves, or with cheap modern reproductions fitted, I think this is something of a bargain, and I'm not willing to drop the price any further.
I would also do a straight swap for any of the following:
A Garrard 301
A Michell Gyro
Naim CDI CD player
NAP180 or 250 amplifiers
A very good quality DAC (Bel Canto, Naim, Audiolab etc)
Revox B77 R2R + cash
Technics RS-1500 R2R
NO other offers please - thank you.
Due to weight & the fragile nature of valves, UK buyers only please, and would prefer buyer/swapper collects if at all possible (Basingstoke, Hampshire).
Please send me a PM if interested.
Cheers,
John.
Note: you'll need either a Quad 22 control unit, or suitable leads to run the Quad IIs (available from Quad or Flashback Sales) from a modern pre-amp.
