Yes, I have fond memories of a trip I made to your neck of the woods: Port Mary, many years ago.

We have other members here who are also fans of open-baffle speakers.

As a source I mainly use a laptop running JRiver. This feeds a dcs Delius, to which I've recently added a Purcell. I like the Delius, which I've had for a couple of years. It's early days yet for the Purcell but first impressions are that it does improve the sound further, even though I was upsampling from 44.1 to 176.4 kHz in JRiver before I got it. The Delius feeds the active crossover of the Orions. Power amps are in flux.

I had my ears opened to the benefits of full range open baffles by a pair of Dali Skyline 2000s I owned for a few years. I can't go back to boxes now, and I still miss that metre long ribbon tweeter! Having said that, the Orions are a better speaker all round - they don't suffer the bass heaviness of the Skylines and the mids are more transparent. I've only had the Orions for 6 months, and I have a fair bit of work ahead to sort them out to my own satisfaction - they were rather bodged by the original builder/owner.

I do have a turntable - a PT - which is boxed up at the moment. Getting it set up is a project I need time for.

The system doubles up for home cinema duties - although my efforts to use the laptop to play blu-rays keep encountering hurdles, and I'm considering just going back to a stand alone player.

Music is 95% of the system's workload, though, and 80% of that is classical (in the broad sense), with particular soft spots for Bach, Handel and Vaughan Williams.

I had the smaller Skyline 1000 - and they had a measured in-room bass peak of +15dB! Once I'd sorted that with a Behringer 2496 equalizer thingamajig the mids cleaned up quite noticeably. But I agree the Skylines are not the most resolving and transparent of speakers, despite what you might expect from the open baffle and ribbon design. An appealing speaker, nonetheless.
I still prefer "box bass", but baffle-less mids and treble have suited me well for the last few years.
