HI guys, this isn't really DIY but i didn't know where else to post this,

I'm looking for somewhere reputable but not too expensive to get 2 integrated amps serviced
Hopefully someone has experience/recommendation of an amplifier repairer/servicer in the north east between say Newcastle and Thirsk (no couriers-bad experience)and can point me in the right direction, as i don't fancy a blind stab in the yellow pages

I don't really have megabucks so hopefully someone knows a reputable tech who i won't have to pawn my Granny to pay

The amps in question are an elderly Marantz integrated and an Accuphase integrated

Mant thanks if you can help

Could i also propose that a recommended repairer thread be started if it doesn't already exist? be really handy for those of us who aren't expert solder sniffers;)

I know it's a bit further than Newcastle but I would look at taking the amps to Jez Arkless. He is in the Blyth/Bedlington area and would be my first choice in the NE.

If that is too far how about contacting Simon at Hi Fi Sound in Stockton as I believe they offer a repair service.

Thanks for that Paul, much appreciated.

Funnily enough your the third person to mention HiFi sound so i think i'll give them a go as i'm relying on my daughter for transport otherwise i'd give Jez the business
