Will be interesting to hear how this venerable design is evolving as the decades pass. One brand that WON'T do about turns with sonic flavour, but rather, gently refine the concept with each change - and put the bloody price up as well as do all the others :(

I love the old model and very much look forward to hearing the new one :) :respect:

Heard this recently (with Alan Shaw playing tunes) and was very impressed. And I'm not a Harbeth fan.

You make me smile - the last time I looked at the pricing they seemed pretty 'export orientated' already!

They're still far cheaper than Spendor's classic range equivalents. They still report full order books many months in advance, so whatever 'we' think, it's a VERY popular brand with a strong legacy to uphold.

Wow! they look...exactly the same as the old ones! (A good thing, would hate to see any bling!) Can't wait to hear them - must sort out a visit over the summer with t'other Dave.

Mee thinks I may have to hear these as I would quite like a pair of Tiger Ebony in my new gaff

I don't know about a 'Super' HL5, but I do know my little P3ESRs are super...

So, Dave :) - What does the all important 'plus' word bring to the party? As you know I'm a big fan of the SHL5's so any info would be great.

Lower colouration through the mid, due to the Radial 2 and a cleaner bass, plus a slightly sweeter HF. Not a massive difference, more of a refinement. Obviously the same speaker but better, if you get my drift.

DSJR heard them here a couple of weeks ago and he was suitably impressed.

Cool... sounds like they have addressed the issues that some found with the SHL5's.

All speakers have 'issues' but the SHL5 and now the new plus version have fewer than most and that is why I sell so many.
