Got a Jelco SA 250, can send it with a Sumiko head shell, NWA solid silver cart tags, and Speedy Steve aluminium arm board and Ebony spacer.

Off to Glasto tomorrow though, so can't send until week after next.

Try a Mission 774, it'll work with just about any cartridge and sound way better than a Rega. I had an Ittok before I started using 774s and the Ittok was sold promptly once I'd tried one. The 774 is easily upgraded if you choose, it's easy to fit (SME mount usually) and use. I've been addicted to the things for years. Mine sounds wonderful with my ZYX MCs. You'll get one for around £200 (but they're going up). The 774 does not have a removable headshell, but it does have an exchangeable arm wand.

Chaps, maybe we could stick to helping Stu source an arm?

Thanks for the offer ali but should have said i'm after something a bit more retro to go with a 301.

Hello there,
How about an Audio Technica AT-1009, boxed with its remote pneumatic arm lift and original headshell. Although the AT-1009 was intended for mid/high compliance cartridges most of that is attributable to the skeletal headshell. Use one of the more rigid headshells (eg Jelco, or AT MG-10, LT-13 or the like) and you are then in the right compliance range.

The AT-1009 has VTA on-the-fly, and this one has a new brass lift cam to replace the frequently-broken plastic one. Also re-wired with Cardas 33awg Litz.

I would offer this for £250 plus postage, and a NIB MG-10 headshell is also available if you wish, for £25 with the arm.

regards

Angus
