I have had a play with these for a few years and now need to reduce the box count. I am selling a pair of Leak 20's which have been modified to mono amps by Glen Croft. I bought them outside of this forum but I believe they were once owned by a member of this forum or the Wam who was a fan of 57's.
They have a very neutral sound and seem to have plenty of power although I have been using them mostly with high efficiency Tannoy Monitors so I haven't really needed to push them hard. They are in good condition. I can't say how old the valves are but they are all working perfectly and I have only been using the amps on a now and again basis - inter-changing with other amps in my cupboard- so there should be plenty of life left in the valves.
I am looking for £850, collection only in SW London or West Sussex or a meeting place nearby.
I am not techy minded so can't answer any techy questions but here is some information given to me by the seller on the mods made by GC (pics below -hopefully!):

“Valve regulated ht supply using ECC83 and 85A2
BHC HT capacitors
Custom made polypropylene coupling capacitors
All resistors replaced
Direct coupled phase splitter
Fixed bias output stage
Input sensitivity reduced
No electrolytic caps in the signal path
3 RDC codes as feet, attached to the chassis base edges
They each have 2 pairs of speaker sockets (in parallel) that take banana plugs, bare wire or spades. You can bi-wire very easily.
They each have an on-off toggle switch at the back
They retain the ability to match to speaker impedance with 4, 8 and 16 ohm settings on the output transformers.
One had its power transformer replaced by Peter Bruty a long time ago. It looks identical to the original one but doesn't have the input voltage switching capability of the original. “

Each mono amp has the following valves:

1 x Golden Dragon EL509
4 x Mullard EL84
2 x Jan Philips 5814A
1 x GE 5965
and underneath the chassis is 1 x Edicron ECC83 and 1 x Mullard 85A2

The base is open to allow the under-chassis valves to ventilate so care must be taken!

Please PM me if interested. I can email more pics if you give me your email addy by PM.

Hope it's ok to use Volante's thread to re-sell these ?! I bought them from him and now wish to move them on at what I bought for. I'm in Nottingham but may be able to travel to meet up. £850, Cheers.
