As a long term follower of fashion (sorry hi-fi) and having been a member of a number of other forums for many years I decided I should join AOS on account of a reasonably recent slight change of direction.
I have always enjoyed listening music and from my late teens wanted to do so via a decent hi-fi system. I bought my very first system before I bought my first car and remember to this day, my very first purchase which was a Pioneer PL12D turntable, a Rotel integrated amp and a pair of Ditton 44 loudspeakers. I have been on a continual 'upgrade journey' ever since, always believing it would be possible to get a slightly better sound.
My current system comprises an LP12 (Sondekker- get it?) with Origin Live DC200 motor, Ultra power supply, Sole MkVI sub-chassis, Origin Live Illustrious tonearm and a Lyra Delos cartridge. This is played through a Cinemag SUT into a Croft 25R preamp (the slight change of direction) into a Dynamiked Linn 2250 power amp into a pair of Kudos C2 loudspeakers. I also use a Densen B400 CD player.s
Perhaps not surprisingly my main interest is analogue and I have a decent collection of LP's. I have a fairly eclectic mix of music in my collection and will happily listen to just about anything although I must admit to not being a massive fan of classical even though I do occasionally enjoy some of the more popular pieces.
After decades of listening to only solid state I decided to satisfy a longstanding curiosity to try some valves in my system, hence the Croft 25R. It is this decision that brought me to AOS on account of the large number internet searches about Croft that kept revealing really helpful information and discussions on this forum. So here I am.
I am not particularly opinionated or interested in posting my own views but I do enjoy browsing forums and am always very interested in the views of others.
My very latest area of interest is to learn more about valves and options for tube rolling in the Croft which I've just had a first tentative go at.
Regards
