Hi
I might be interested. I could try the 5V power supply on my Asynch-1, and if that proved an upgrade, use the streamer on its own on my secondary laptop.
A couple of questions I have though. Why does the power supply have a female IEC meaning you have to use an extra mains lead? Also, is it possible to get a phono to female headphone socket lead? So I just plug my phones into that.
Regards
Darren
The psu plug is the same as the one on the async1 and the streamer. it has a male on one side that goes into the async and a female that you plug the USB cable from the laptop into. That way the signal from the pc goes straight through and the 5 volt from the pc is blocked and supplied by the psu. at least thats what I assume....not tried it on the async but can do if you want tomorrow and make sure it works.

It's probably possible, not not suitable. Line output is built for delivering voltage based audio signal into a load of about 100KOhms.
Your cans require a current based audio signal and have an impedance of , say 20Ohms up to perhaps a couple of hundred Ohms.
Nah, get a headphone amp instead (Or as a complement!)

Hi Mike
I did think there might be an issue after I posted.
I've got a iFI iDAC Micro on my main laptop and was thinking about getting something for my secondary one. One is at my fiancees and the other at home.
I already have a Hifimediy Sabre U2 Asynchronous DAC and it's output isn't load enough, and that's why I got the iFI.

Misread your post. I dunno why, but at a guess it is so you can use your chosen mains cable. I just used a normal Iec cable and it was fine.
Further to this, I have connected the aqvox to the async1 and it works.....rather well actually:)

Well, as there's not any interest and I have found a use for the psu I will withdraw this for now.
