Hi all.
I found this great link to some great pics of private recording studios. I thought it might be a great resource for some inspiration. :)

Excellent.
Bet none of them use cable costing more than £5 a meter. :)
I don't think this chap does either (Ulrich Schnauss) - and he's one of my favourite EM-style artists..

Oh yeah, there's other pics of feet of assorted audio cables snaking all over the floor of his home studio and some amazing old analogue synths surrounding his computer :)
Kinda makes a mockery of all the foo talked about w@nky wires costing hundreds of quid and the risers to get it all off the floor - in my opinion anyway...

A friend of mine who works at Focusrite sent me this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJd8606oNNk
It's a really fascinating video of the 10 analogue mixing desks that Focusrite made.

The music of Ulrich Schnauss is truly amazing and is one reason I cannot go back to valves along with the music of Shpongle.

Now that is how it's done...
This on the other hand to me is the most boring looking studio ever... I hope you will agree.

I have never been in a studio that had a plant before. Not one that was still alive, anyway ;)
Looks like they have a Behringer A500 in the rack there.

I suspect that there was a misunderstanding when the availability of pot in a recording studio was discussed with the clients .

Where're the speakers?
I've been in a few over the years and a few friends have home studio set ups too...
One thing I've noticed is the least organised of them seem to be the most productive. I know a couple chaps who talk constantly about gear and building the perfect studio, suffice to say nowt ever gets done by them as they always seem to be putting off any work until this bit or that arrives.
Me and a pal once purchased a little BOSS mulritrack recorder each, we did loads of stuff on it. Just like our own hobby there would seem to be people with a gear obsession completely disproportionate to the amount of music which actually gets played.

Hahah.... good point.
Well, speakers would probably upset the look...

Yes that is definately true. Some pros are obsessed with their gear to the point of it becoming hoarding problem.
