Email Weirdness

Chaps,

My PC and/or Windows Live Mail has developed a problem. If I try to compose an email or reply to any I receive, I just get a pop-up box saying "A problem has occurred. Please try again". Constantly! :scratch:

I've tried all the diagnostic tools I have available, but no problems are being detected and the fault persists. Anyone?

I've not been contacted by anyone (as yet!) and I have no intention of ringing 'Microsoft' either... Not sure if it's the same issue but there must be a way to sort it, surely? :scratch:

Hmmm, I'd rather not do that if at all possible. BTW, it's not a Hotmail account but a @ntlworld.com account'. I just use 'Windows Live Mail' that comes with Windows 7 as a 'client'. It still appears to be OK if I login via webmail.

Probably best to check your emails from another PC so you know if it is the email account or your PC that has the problem.

Run all the usual virus and malware scans just to be sure.

I would test it with a lightweight pop3 client such as popcorn as nothing is installed with this as it runs from memory.
save to and run popcorn from a memory stick then you can take it with you and check email from anywhere with internet access that allows you to plug the memory stick in.
