evening everyone, this is my first post, and hope you can help
I have a Thorens TD125 TT with SME 3009 detatchable headshell,

I have just got my TT out after moving to find the lid is broken and the arm is bent and broken at the
back where the weights are- completely broken ! we moved about 3 months ago and stupidly didn't check it
so this is coming out of my pocket, do I get cover and arm replaced? or do I save up and get a new TT

thanks in advance

Yes and both arm and TT are well worth repairing.

Nothing wrong with the TD 125 or SME, so get it repaired. If you don't fancy doing it, Johnie 7 at Audio Origami will do a great job for you.

SME offer an excellent aftercare service and the 3009 is certainly worth repairing. There should be plenty of parts on the web to get the turntable back up to scratch. Good luck getting it sorted.

Analog Tube Audio in Germany are a great place for turbo charging your old SME, i bought their RCA conversion last week as i can't use the side entry conversion i have on my deck..
