I recently decided to reacquaint myself with my vinyl collection from the 70's & 80's. Fortunately I had kept pretty much all my albums & singles despite moving house a few times in the intervening years!

It's been quite a fast learning curve, becoming familiar again with terminologies not necessarily that familiar back in the day (to me at least!). To facilitate the listening experience I purchased a Thorens TD150 MkII, NAD3020B & Celestion 3 MkII speakers, plus all the peripheral bits I need or have convinced myself I need! Most of the records I've played so far sound great, although some of my musical choices suggest they may have been in a sale at the time of purchase and for good reason!

I'm based in Hampshire and sit comfortably in the novice category :)

Hi Gary, welcome to AOS.

I see you've chosen some older 'classics' for your system. There are a lot of TD150 and NAD fans on here.

What music do you listen to?

Geoff.

Hello Geoff, thanks for your welcome.

Musically, I'll give most artists a listen, amongst some of the albums I've recently been playing you can include; The Jam, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, The Kinks, Sade, Joan Armatrading, Wings,The Smiths, ELO, UB40, Blondie & Smokie (Smokie as a gesture of goodwill to my wife!) This afternoon I played Steve Winwood's Back in the High Life, the recording sounding particularly good.
