Thought I would post some pics of my DIY setup

Garrard 401 on slate plinths the Arm is a very basic diy 12” Ebony Schroeder, cartridges are SL15, SL15ell and Coral 777ex.

Phono is a Steve Bench design with added anode chokes with Cinemag SUTs.

The preamp uses dht (directly heated triode) valves 210LF choke loaded.

The Power Amp uses a interstage transformer, also dht and can be configured as 801a driving VT52 or VT52 driving 801a and 801a driving 801a.

Speakers are OBs using a 8" Field Coil for mids a Visaton horn tweeter and a 15" BetaA for bass.

Good pics Will.

What cable and plugs do use between amp and power supply.
I see a separate power supply as the next stage for me.

Al, the power supply has a seperate supply for each stage
plus dc filament supplies.
The cable could only be described as dangerous, plugs are
described by Maplins as Mic Connectors they are chromed
and come with 2-5 pins but I think Speakon would be
easier to use.

Good photos Will,

Your OB speakers look very stylish and not at all DIY - very nice.

My own way maybe not but the way its sounding its the only way:)
The system is at the stage where the sound has a realism I've not heard before, Ive thought my components have potential but the OB's have shown what they are capable of bla, bla...need Marco:)
The Fieldcoils are 70 years old German Saschenverk sp.

Hehehe... Well, Will, I've heard some of your gear and it's fantastic, so I can probably think of a few superlatives to describe it ;)

Marco.

Lovely will, I see you were at Owston. I like the look of your OB's, and the amps look like they have come out of a factory - fantastic.
