I have had a play around with different SPDIF cables and have discovered a very good VFM cable I will be sticking with for now.

I make most of my own kit so I put together a cable using QED Qunex BNC plugs with 600mm length of Oyaide ETVS-510 cable. It was about £14.00 for the plugs and £70.00 for the cable.

I also bought some Belden 1694a Video cable to try as well.

The Oyaide cable worked fine as I expected it would being made from Ag with plenty of shielding for protection against RFI egress and exit as well.
The Belden cable also worked just as good as the Oyaide, I could not tell them apart.

So if you are looking for an SPDIF cable, give the Belden a try first as it may be all you need and is capable of top quality performance probably due to it being able to transmit a few Ghz over 100m :)

Well worth trying although the Oyaide does look so much nicer than plain black Belden :D

Indeed I also use the Belden, it's technically as good as it gets. I use Blue Jeans Audio ones with the Canare RCAs at one end and BNC at the other.

Another listening session has thrown up a difference between the cables.

The Oyaide is giving me better transient attack and separation to vocals. I will continue listening, I think the cable and me are having a bedding in time ….
