About a month old, perfect condition & sounds pretty damn good. Works with both Mac & Windows, no need for drivers just plug & play ! Cost me around £43 delivered & took 10 days to arrive... I'll take £30 including RM 1st class postage.

Myself and a lot of others on here use these and are more than happy with them, its also a USB/SPDIF convertor and a fairly decent headphone amp
Ive heard they are good, but never tried one....does it come out on a 3.5 mm jack socket as analogue or as spdif?
For the money they are a bargin

Hi All
I've just bought one for headphone use, but found the volume too low on my 32ohm phones. Could I get a 3.5mm to optical lead (Or a converter and optical to optical lead) and use it to feed my Caiman's optical input and would this be better than using the USB input?
Regards
Darren

You could do Darren, if your laptop doesn't have optical out already it will solve your problem nicely.

Thanks for the reply. I was going to use it on a laptop at my fiancee's as an improvement over the built in headphone socket, but as it's only a Dac and not a Dac/Amp the volume wasn't high enough. Rather than bin it, I wondered if instead of using the USB input of my Caiman, I could come out of my main systems notebook's USB output into the optical input of the Caiman and would this be an improvement?

Hmm I'm not sure, probably not worth the extra wires/effort but for the cost of a cheap optical cable there's only one way to find out !
Oh, and Grant - Your inbox is full :)
