Hello everyone.
I'm looking to buy a low use moving coil cartridge for my Vpi scout. I'm hoping for DV/Zyx/Benz but would consider anything provided it wasn't as hot as some of the AT carts I've heard. 0.4mv plus ideally, as compatible with the JMW 9 memorial arm as possible.
Anybody thinking of selling anything that might suit?

I have a spare Ortofon MC25FL Jake, these are rather popular with certain AOS members. It sounds superb and is up there with my ZYX MCs for sound quality. I can't quote usage as I'm not the first owner, but it is in very good condition, with original box & packing. I don't need two so I can let this one go. I'd accept £180 including postage if you are interested.

Hi Jake, if you haven't gone for the MC25FL, I can recommend a Dynavector DV-10X5. I don't have one for sale but have just been helping a friend set one up with exactly the same deck / tonearm combo you have. It is very impressive indeed and from what I have read is a very popular pairing with this set-up. You can plug it straight into a 47k moving magnet input or if you have a bit more flexibility Dynavector recommend 1K loading. Quite tempted to try one myself ...

Thanks Jules. I've heard the DV 10x5 and very good it is too. Gone for the Orty for now. So many carts, so little time ....:)
10XV? Nah, not in the same ball park as a 'proper' cartridge. the Ortofon should eat it alive I think as the 10XV started life at a third of it's relative current price and just kept on climbing where the once similar price DL110 didn't - and yes, I do accept Pear Audio (the UK importers) give superb service.
That MC25FL should be great, but it does need a step-up of sorts I think from memory. just take some time over careful setup of VTA and downforce and all should be well.
