Great Scott Ive owned both the 'AR-XA' & 'XB'.. '77XB' & 'Legend'..
Trouble with AOS is it' Techy Techy Techy
Not really, dude. Outside of the Techiepedia, there's no mention of Techies anywhere in Analogue Art, only belt-drive T/Ts and idlers.... Therefore, wiith the Techie chat having its own dedicated section, it's not difficult to ignore ;)
Anyway, Scott, nice AR T/T - I especially love the 'chunky' tonearm! :)
Marco.
Here's mine, been working on this for around a month. Just in the process of re wiring the tonearm after a clumsy accident :o

One of my Luxmans, the pump is not working on this and is a work in progress.
I just love the quality of the build on Luxman turntables.

I'm very impressed to be honest Andre, only listened to it for a few hours though before I damaged the tonearm cables

I love ADC's with a passion. MY 26 just doesn't like most arms so it's retired right now and even the XLM mk1's wobble a fair bit. The MK2 is better and the III and Phase IV's I have are perfect for me. They just seem to make the musical best of the records they play and into modern or decent vintage phono stages, surface noise is never an issue. Even my ZLM seems fine and just a little crisper up top over the sweet XLM series. The V15 III may be technically more truthful, but the non 'HE' models don't arf make an issue of badly cut and pressed 1970's vinyl and sound edgy with it sometimes.. The HE was in a different league but this stylus (VN35HE)wasn't available in the UK for very long.

I love ADC's with a passion.
So do I Dave. It's amazing that these forty to fifty year old cartridges still work, let alone outperform many modern MCs.
Mind you some of the MCs from the late sixties are not to be sniffed at. The old Micro Seikis and Ortofons are still lovely.

Whats your best turntable score?
A white Garrard 301 with SME 3009 and Shure V15 that came in a sixties Hi-Fi console unit with a Leak Varislope pre-amp, Troughline tuner and Leak Stereo 20 power amp, all totally mint and for £25. Mind you it was a long time ago.
I also got a silver hammered finish Garrard 301 for £10 at a boot sale and a 401 with another SME 3009 in an SME 2000 plinth for £50 from a friend.
