Is there anyone using a DVD audio player? Was there many of them made? if so, could you recommend a good one.

Yes.

The Toshiba 900 and 9500 are excellent. long out of production (I have both models) but any of the oppo's have DVD A as a feature so one of the current ones would be an excellent new option.

The Oppo BDP95 and BDP105 both support DVDA. I have half a dozen DVDAs and they are very good.

Have you got plenty of DVD-A discs are they still being produced?

Not heard the Oppo play DVD-A's, but my 103D plays SACD brilliantly.
Set audio HDMI output to DSD and use an HDMI audio extractor to play it through the Dac, bypassing the bitrate limit on the oppo coax.

Imagine it works the same with DVD-A's?

I use a Oppo BDP95. Plays DVD-A's exceptionally well, I've got ELP's 1st album, which I love.

On SACD if you connect to amp via analogue interconnect, you gain using DSD @ 24/96 via the internal ESS Sabre DAC.

I thought it was @ 24/88.2

As I'm not sure, I have no inclination to argue. However I would chop-up my Oppo up into very little pieces and eat it with some beans and a nice Chianti if you could genuinely hear the difference between 24/96 and 24/88.2.:):):)
