Hi.
A couple of months ago I got an offer I couldn't refuse; a battered SL1210 mk2 for free. One thing lead to another and now the SL1210 is back to its former glory with some upgrades. The upgrades are KAB PSU, strobe disabler, upgraded regulator and fluid damper. New stock tonearm with dampening and Cardas wiring, Cardas headshell cables and RCA cables, Isonoe feet and a Funk Firm Achromat. I've also upgraded the electrolytic capacitor for the motor to 1000uF. A Ortofon 2M Bronze translates the grooves in the records to music. I'm quite satisfied with the sound, but there's always room for improvements and upgrades and that's the reason I joined the forum. As a vinyl rookie it's very easy to go wrong and I would like to learn from the experienced at AoS to avoid the deepest sink holes and maybe share some thoughts from a rookies point of view.

The rest of my setup is: Sonus Faber Extrema, Vienna Acoustics Subson, Cary SLP-03, Tact RCS 2.0AA, Krell KSA 300s, ASR Mini Basis mkII and a Squeezebox Touch.

Hi Ragnar, welcome to AoS. You have a very nice system and I hope you enjoy your new turntable and discovering the joys of vinyl.

What music do you enjoy?

Thanks :-)
I listen to anything between death metal and techno, trying to avoid both genres mentioned above ;)

Hi Ragnar and welcome to AOS.
Some very serious kit you have there - post some pictures of the rest of your system when you get the chance.
I'm very fond of Cary & ASR kit and the SF Extrema as well.
Enjoy your stay!
Cheers
John
