Does anyone know the difference between 3.1 and 4.1?
What gauge (awg) cables are they?
Thanks!
I think they were 42 strand copper (2 or 2.5mm square section) with the main differences being that the 4.1 insulation was different (the 4.1 had a different chemical make up which was said to be more inert against the copper or something). One strand was reversed in each bundle for some reason (something to do with directionality although whether it makes any difference at all is a mute point).

Thanks Paul. I was hoping it is the same cable as the naim Nac A5, but it sounds like its similar to Nac A4 or old exposure cable then.
Do you know which company makes the Nac A5, the 19 strand 4mm2 dumbbell construction cable? I wish there's a cheaper alternative to the A5, not that it's an expensive cable, but I need over 16 meters. :(
Its Naim AFAIK John.
You could look at alternatives from DNM or even Van Damme do a widely spaced shotgun type cable these days (low capacitance) so that could well be worth a look espcially given that it's quite cheap?
