I thought it was due to the fact that you can no longer buy a Texan bar.

And the wrapping is no longer made of a waxed paper type material - you can't rip them in to two like you used to.

Pah! Bounty. It was the discontinuation of the Swisskit I've never got over...

There was a cheesy but catchy advertising slogan for Swisskit, but I'm struggling to remember it. was is "Risk it for a Swisskit"?

The rot set in many years ago when the Marathon bar was renamed something like knickers.

'Twas indeed.

BTW to bring back OT, I'm a Red Bounty man.

I can also remember Mars Bars wrapped in folded wax paper for 2d.

Bounty:spew: Disgusting stuff. Coconut is the spawn of the devil.

Talking of which, the real trouble with the world started when Sculley refused to licence MacOs to Bill Gates:eyebrows:

Well, why not. Its been pretty boring round here, what with the back paining me and having to wait three weeks for an MRI. I need some entertainment:ner:

Howwa man Gordy, you - you of all people - should have worked out that Maulder would have shared with Scully the fact that Gates was an alien replicant and whose purpose here is to enslave mankind by way of the computor, and attempts to stop him thwarted, he has succeeded.

The REAL problem with the world today is that as soon as you enter a shop, you're viewed as a potential thief. The UK has the highest number of cctv cameras of any country in the world at something like 11 to 14/ 1 persons to cameras.

Thats why I live in rural France. Out here, the only cameras are for speeding and thats only near towns it seems. Where we are, the road are open and reasonably clear of traffic. And, would you believe, most of the people are friendly, act like good neighbours should and  are quite happy to talk to each other and pass the time of day. We even lend people a cup of sugar when they ask. I recently found I had left my wallet at home when buying a new battery for the mower. Pay me next time!! Sometimes the problems seem to be someone else's.

Talking of which

You know when you refrain from talking about Football, Religion & Politics in a pub, i think that subject ought to be in the same line of caution.

Try working where I do

Every door has a poster on both sides saying

" Would you steel from your friends ? "

and

" Look out for THEFT "

I am searched every day while at work and they also do random locker and vehicle searches

What will come N e = Xt ?

Not allowed to put the name of the company as they monitor web sites for negative comments find the people involved and sack them , Oh deep joy

Gary Barlow - I wish he would just go somewhere else. His contribution to shite music needs to be documented and then lost.

You don't have to go to France for that it is like that where I live plus the shops are open all day not just 0630 to 0830 ;)
France is prettier though, I'll give you that.

Marco,

The closest current equivalent is probably the Picknic (?) but when the Swisskit came out it was truly exotic without being made from any of the pure Chocolate foreign rubbish - 100 vegelate with crunchy muesli inside! Bliss!

I suspect he came rather too close to doing just that if the company is as bad as he says:doh:

The spam fritter just doesn't have the prominence at the tea-table it once had. No doubt a casualty of the multi-cultural society we now live in.

Shame…

Garibaldi anyone?…

Well it used to be with a mug of tea. But I gave up eating meat years ago. I did used to be rather partial to a spam fritter though…
