Can someone in the US or anyone with recent experience give me the normal price for posting an LP from the USA to UK ?

This used to be around £5 from memory, now seems closer to £10 so bargains on either Ebay or Discogs are no bargain when you add the post

Also how much to post within the US, perhaps to my mate Dave who can bring a load over when he visits

Agree postal charges have gone up a lot from the USA lately

Cost me $24 to get one CD shipped from us to uk...guy apologised but he didn't overcharge.would imagine an LP would be steeper.

Relatively recent CDs were around £3-4 for me

LPs seem to be around the £8-10 mark

I order items for work, usually binding tape for our Docutech
There are 2 options there
Courier, not cheap, but still less than buying in the UK
Post with USPS, sensible price, takes around 2 weeks, customs duty on top of not too much

The sellers only use one or the other, seemingly oblivious to the alternative

I hoped there was an alternative to smaller items like LPs

Last album from US I bought was The New Dave Brubeck Quartet A Cut Above Direct Disk Labs from the bay, won for $5.69 (approx. £3.37) and postage was $20.73 International Priority Shipping, which around £12.30.

It's really too much but if you want the music you've really no choice.

Possibilities of more than one LP from the same seller, not too much extra and Europe which is a fair bit less

The seller of the DB direct cut did include all import duties, etc. which I had forgotten. So not too bad after all. :)

I stopped buying from USA years ago, too pricy and you ALWAYS get charged far too much import tax. RIPOFF :steam:

Agreed. US imports are very unattractive costwise.

Never charged tax

Perhaps as they were bargain prices
