Just mentioned how they got so many Beatles singles returned on one release because of skipping due to too low bass, that from that point they put a sharp cut off on the bass on Beatles records..

Hopefully CD addressed that point nicely and was closer to the original master tape!

I'm note sure whether this was before or after the current RIAA standard was agreed?

Nigel.

Being a big beatles fan, I've never heard of (through the general histrory) of anyone returning their singles because of that... wonder how many were returned?

Could have been returned by the shops maybe?

Hi Nat

If it wasn't for that poxy record cover and those four gents from the northwest, Abbey Road would not have reputation it has today and the historical recoding which have been made since.

George Martin deciding that working with EMI at the time was too restrictive so he set up his own place, Air Studio's.
It has since passed through a few owners, Chrysalis Records, Pioneer etc

A fair few technicians and mastering engineers frequent both places, Peter Mew, Ray Staff, John Webber.

Both studio's are world famous, for me personally Air has the edge.
