Just had an email from Emily to say that the last remaining direct-to-disc vinyl 10" EP's have been gathered and are on sale via her Bandcamp site.
They are literally selling like hot cakes - there were 97 when I started typing this, now down to 83, so don't dally if you want one.

£9.99 plus postage and you get a digital download straightaway too.

Just to say thanks to Tim, via your head up from another thread,
my copy is ordered and on it's way, avid Celtic Connections goer and folkey female singers are up my street. :)

Many thanks Tim.

Thanks Tim, ordered. 28 remaining. Been a while since I used to see her live in a local pub.

You are welcome - just as an aside when you get yours, the disc paper slip sleeve has a code for a digital download as well, so you won't miss out on that ;)

Well done Emily, something to be proud of IMHO, but I would say that ;)

When I ordered her limited edition lyric songbook, it took about 10 days or so to come through - I think these one-off type sales are handled by Emily directly, so take a little longer than Amazon faster than a speeding bullet delivery ;)

Yeah, but hopefully faster than a speeding pullet

Which local was that by the way? I might have been there in some capacity as well.

I think this is a great example of how the parasitic music industry taking 90%+ of an artist's revenue (if not all of it and still leaving the artist in debt..) should roll over and die now - it's time has passed.

So Emily's 500 copy EP release has raised £5000. After the production costs, just 4 of those releases could keep an artist going for a year concentrating on their music - and that's without paid gigs or any other gig CD sales, merch, downloads. In fact that could be more financial support than someone slaving away at a minimum wage job whilst they squeeze music in as and where they can! And that with only a relatively small fan base needed.

Anyone played theirs yet?

Getting some shrieking distortion through the first track

Playing mine now. Not getting any distortion on the first track, but it's as warped as a warppy thing.

It's a bit intermittent, feels like someone had the mic gain too high

Just listened again and agree that it's right on the edge of distorting on her vocal peaks.

Interestingly the flac download is perfect, so it's either the vinyl cut or different takes/recording equipment,

Be intrigued to see if everyone else finds the same

The blurb said it was direct to disk I think with someone riding the controls to the cutting lathe.. so might just be that.

Still, gives it more of a home-made feel!
