My DacX died with the crackle and pop for the 2nd time and was repaired first time under warranty but this 2nd time the warranty was long since expired and seeing as its the 2nd time its failed with the same fault I didn't want to pay for the repair as it would most likely fail again as this seems to be common problem with the dac so I bought a M-dac instead as no way would I pay 1500 to upgrade to the Signature version.
I set my DacX up to my CDXTSE hit play and all I got was hiss with no music so I left it in standby for a few hours and tried it again and this time with the hiss I could hear faint music playing so back to standby again for another hour or 2 then retried and now music and hiss are 50/50.
After its been powered in standby all morning I retried it and I hear just music and my DacX is fixed :)
Ive now set the DacX up with a PSXR and boxed up the M-dac so im all Cyrus again apart from the preamp.
