I'm Paul and I've been using Hi Fi equipment for about 20 years since a friend suggested that my love of music would be enhanced by investing in something more than an all in one system, so began a journey into ever more time and money spent on searching for music and Hi Fi

After many years of buying separates I am currently using a Cocktail Audio X30 ripper/streamer as my main source with Cambridge Audio Aero 2 speakers. I also have a Lenco turntable but find myself using the less and less recently. Now that I have the majority of my CDs ripped onto the X30 it allows me to listen to music that I haven't heard for a while

I have done some small scale DIY and upgrade projects which I have enjoyed but have bought new kit recently rather than making/modding as I'd rather spend the time listening.

My music tastes are very varied, about the only type not represented in my collection is Opera although I mainly listen to Dub, Trip Hop & Downtempo styles alongside Seventies Soul, Roots & early Dancehall Reggae, World & Jazz Fusion etc etc. I also enjoy some of the music that my kids have introduced me to such as Bastille and the XX.

At the moment I'm thinking about getting some new speaker cables for my main system and getting a headphone system set up, I believe there will always be something new in Hi Fi to keep me interested/hooked ;)

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Don't let that Lenco gather dust.

Listening to different formats seems to go in phases for me, I've never been without a turntable since before I bought my first record so the Lenco will continue get used. I've had the X30 since December and I am enjoying the ability to access my collection almost instantly and rediscover large parts of it (and my wife is enjoying not having to see hundreds of CDs everywhere )
