Hi everyone,

Been looking at your site for the past year or so but never actually bothered to say hello. Not sure why.

Anyway here I am. Hello!!!! (said in a Seinfeld Uncle Leo voice)

I'm a late 30's hi-fi nut and my story started quite a few years ago when I bought an Arcam 7 amp, Mission 750LE's and KI Sig 63 player!
I've been upgrading and tweaking ever since. It's so damn addictive!

Amp: I went from an Arcam 7 to a Myryad MI 120 Integrated then to the Myryad 120 pre and powers until I switched to Musical Fidelity.
With MF I started with the A3CR Pre and Power, then moved to an A5 Integrated and finally to the A5CR Pre and Powers that I have now.

CD: Marantz 63 KI Sig > NAD Silverline > Cambridge Audio 840C

Vinyl: NAD 533 > Project Xpression MKII

Speakers: Mission 750LE > Sonus Faber Concertos > Sonus Faber Signums > Sonus Faber Electa Amator II

Speaker Cabling: Cable Talk bi wire (richer sounds job!) > Sonic Link AST 200 Biwire > Van Den Hul CS122 > LAT SS1000D Biwire > SS800 MK II > Tellurium Q Black > Tellurium Q Ultra Black

Interconnects: Straight Wire Chorus > Van Den Hul D102 > Straight Thru (Ebay) > Mark Grant G1000HD > Mark Grant G1500HD > Mark Grant G2000HD with WBT Aug

I have an extensive music collection and pretty much like anything and everything. Old school hip hop, 60's rock and psychedelia, 70's funk and prog rock, electronica, jazz, classical etc.

I've found your site to be an excellent source for all things concerning hi-fidelity and particularly invaluable to me for getting info on new cables/tweaks etc.

I did all my system cabling from listening to users opinions here and obviously testing with my own ears so thank you very much!!

BTW, having recently spent some time auditioning the SF Guarneri Homage and the new Olympica I, I still think that the Electa Amator was perhaps the best sounding or most balanced one of them all.

Ahh interesting!

Are you referring to the Amator MK I or MK II version? A lot of people prefer the MK1 with the metal tweeter. I've never actually heard the MK1.

I had a pair of Concertos at first then upgraded to Signums and then to these.

The Signums were a great little speaker but the EAII's are a level above in terms of presence and performance.

Heard both in fact - the II were a tad more to my liking, though the I, with the Esotar tweeter, were a damn fine speaker in their own right.
