Headphones for use with Bushmaster MkII

Hi all,

Looking to get some closed back headphones that are a good match for my Bushmaster MkII.

Not entirely sure of budget just yet, though likely to be under £200.

Please could people offer their suggestions,

Very happy with my Denon AHD 2000 - at 25 Ohms a breeze to drive. Should fall well within your budget on the used market.

Hi Phil et all

I now have hd650s and can only agree with what was said in the other cans thread. They sound great. Revealing, but non fatiguing. A joy to listen too, but open backed and above what you may be prepared to spend.

Also I have ATH-M50s, which are my cans of choice to take travelling. These are used a lot by broadcasting professionals, are great value, closed back and tough as old boots! They sound pretty decent all round, plenty of bass too, but a bit on the loose side. Mid range and vocals seem pretty good, but the top end, whilst all there is less well defined than more expensive models. A good buy and you should be able get them for not much more than £100.

My vote would then go to the Focal Spirit One; really nice sounding cans, easy to drive, well made and comfortable and very portable as well.

AKG K 550 with my Bushmaster MK2.
You may find some of the reviews claiming these super transparent cans cans are bass light.....NONSENSE.
Adjust the headband to give a snug fit (dead easy) and thes cans will dig the bass out, assuming it's there in the first place. Certainly no artificial bass boom (buy some Dr Dre garbage if that's what your looking for!:D) I'm really pleased with these headphones.

Just a tad shy of £110 at Richer Sounds Phil, but check online to see if you can get a better price.;)
