This evening, just for fun I dug out a load of my CD related electronics to wire up together in the system.
I usually run a Pioneer PD-S505 Precision as my CD transport, but currently have my Meridian 507 feeding a Theta TLC jitter buster, which is in turn feeding a Monarchy Audio DIP 24/96 jitter buster, running into a Monarchy Audio M22B DAC, which has an analogue connection to a Musical Fidelity X10-D valve buffer stage, driving my MingDa MC-9 TVC pre-amp, which controls my Monarchy Audio SM-70 Pro, Class A power amp, driving my Tannoy Cheviot II speakers.
So many links in the chain eh? So, is this a sensible arrangement? How does it sound?
Well, it sounds bloody amazing. Don't know why, but it all seems to gel together nicely, very smooth and open. I'm going to leave it like this for a few days and then try reverting to my normal setup and compare.
