Hi all

First post... I have some freaky set ups; a 2ch with turntable and digital set up (via rDAC) in our family room, and my main system in our living room, MA Silver floorstanders with Pioneer AV Amp, N 50 Media Player, Blu-Ray etc. I have all my CDs ripped to FLAC and a good collection of 24 bit FLACs.

I'm happy with the sound of my systems, I know that some of you purists will turn your nose up at the fact that my 'main' system is playing my 24 bit files through the 2 channels of an AV amp, but I've got friends at a local hi-fi shop who've lent me stereo integrated amps that retail in excess of £1000 that at best don't better the sound of the Pioneer, and at worst lose weight, imaging or warmth of the Pioneer.

I've decided to take a break from the upgrade path as I like the sounds that I have in both rooms, but I thought I would turn my attention to some housework, perhaps with the hope that I might hear some small gains, by improving the mains connections. I have Tacima Mains conditioners in both rooms and have just received some Mains cable, plugs and connectors from MCRU. I would be very interested to hear some thoughts on expected benefits, but also some advice on wiring up the leads... soldering etc.

Thanks for reading my first post.

Hi Russell, welcome to AoS

No one here is going to 'turn their nose up' at your system - that's not how we do things round here. Anything that works for you is fine. What music do you enjoy?

Hi Russell,
Here's a warm welcome to AoS from me too.
Happy with the sound of your system is the best place to be!
