I bought this on the Lenco forum a little while back for use with mono LPs and 78s, but I'm now sorted with a dedicated mono arm on my TD124, so this is surplus to requirements. 4 speeds (16, 33, 45 and 78). It was listed a month ago, sold within minutes, but is now back for sale after the buyer delayed collection then backed out.
This is possibly the best one of these you'll come across being fully and sensitively restored recently. It's semi-automatic (move the arm right to start, it clicks off at the end of the side) and all the mechanism works perfectly.
Same motor and idler assembly as the TD124 - parts are interchangeable - and quiet (if anything quieter than my TD124). This has had a new idler wheel & belt and all parts cleaned/oiled.
New black Stereo Lab plinth (copy of the vintage original)
All-round new rubber suspension mushrooms.
Comes with FOUR SPU-lookalike headshells, all with integral wiring. The headshell is unique to the BDT-12S tonearm (even other Thorens headshells can't be used) and exceptionally rare (it seems that typical ebay price is £80 each though I recently saw a NOS one in its packaging for €250).
Since buying this I've also located FOUR very rare sets of cartridge spacers which enable modern cartridges to be used in these headshells, and I've also bought a good selection of the screws necessary to mount them (standard cartridge screws won't fit), in various lengths. I've been able to fit any cartridge I tried using these, vintage and modern.
The chassis itself is in lovely nick with all the relevant plates etc in nice condition.
It's had a decent quality output lead with earth wire fitted.

It came to me from exceptionally well packed in two boxes (one for the turntable, one for the plinth) with a sensible amount of disassembly to protect arm, bearing etc. I'd MUCH, MUCH prefer this to be collected from Berkshire (or meet up somewhere sensible in M3/M4/M25/M40 sort of area, as for all it's been restored it's still a 50-year old bit of kit but I am prepared to pack it in what it came in as well as I can if the buyer wants to arrange courier.
Looking to sell for the £500 I paid.
