WTD NOS Tesla ECC83 valves

What you want is the Tesla ECC803S. I had some once and the legendary Telefunken ECC803S at the same time.

TBH the Teslas were as good. I seriously rate Tesla tubes (not JJ). I'm using cross-sword ECC88s in my pre and they are just superbly made and great sonically. Better, IMHO, than NOS Siemens I also have at the momentt.

I am actually using some NOS Tesla ECC83 32 in my Croft pre at the moment and they are simply a revelation compared to the standard JJ. Thats why i want some more as back up:eyebrows:

Tesla ECC803S prices have gone up since I had them, but I recommend getting some as they are morer betterer, or should be. Then keep the ECC83s as backup (or whichever you prefer). They are compatible.

The Ukrainian suppliers on ebay I've found to be fine BTW. But there appears to be only one ECC803S on there at the mo.

There's none of the cross-sword ECC88s. I got very lucky and scored a quad of them recently. I think they are pretty rare and there's virtually none left. They are (were? LOL) the absolute cream of the crop.

I will keep an eye on eBay but they do seem to be quite rare as I think some of the guitar amp guys have bought a lot up.

Bloody guitarists. Ooops - I'm a guitarist and my Cornford uses ECC83s - but I wouldn't waste Teslas on it. Some RCAs in there:)
