I have recently acquired a TD125, I've stripped it down, cleaned everything that can get cleaned, oiled, painted, polished everything that can be polished, replaced the electrolytic caps, pots and transistors on the speed controller and reset all the voltages as per the Thorens instructions.
I was re-assembling the deck just now and realised I hadn't taken note of how loose or tight the little nyloc nuts that connect the top and bottom chassis's should be. Should these be done up tight or left fairly loose?

Nyloc nuts?

The springs sit in cups and there is a washer at the bottom to assist in the cup's rotation but not the spring. The top plate is prevented from lifting off by three nuts and associated washers. To set the suspension for proper bounce, it may be necessary to rotate the springs on their grommets as per the LP12, and the best way to do this is to remove these nuts and washers (located next to the spring cups). This helps hugely with setup and as they play no part in the normal running of the deck, can be left off should you wish. I only refitted mine when I sold the TD125.

Dave, yes, it's the 3 nuts next to the white 'suspension adjusters'. Surely if you don't fit these nuts you can't set the suspension as that's what is used to couple the upper and lower chassis together and you would then just have the top plate resting on the springs and unable to adjust their compression?
