View Full Version : Upgrading the clock in a PD-S703
Is it worth it these days? If so, where can I get a better clock from?
I have owned my PD-S703 from new, and I "upgraded" to an Arcam Alpha 7SE but still kept the old Pioneer.

Can't answer your question as to whether it's worth it but can offer some possibly useful links.
AudioCom Super Clock review - http://www.tnt-audio.com/accessories/sclock_e.html
Kwak Clock (v cheap DIY clock) - http://diyparadise.com/clock.html
"Lampization" of a PD S703 - http://lampizator.eu/lampizator/references/Pioneer_703/pioneer703.html You may or may not be interested in a valve output stage but either way a useful article on modding the CDP including the installation of a clock.

A Bushmaster DAC does a very nice job when fed direct from the PD-S703
Send it to Colin at Chevron Audio
I wouldn't spend the money on the Pioneer, get a nice dac and feed the cdp into it. That makes the best use of the Pioneers best feature its mechanism.
