Hi Chris,

Do you mean the NOS Russian ones? If so, yes, I use them in my Croft (as does Joe, Black Adder) and they're stunning! Stupidly low-priced, too... :)

Yes Russian metal based . straight replacement for 6sl7. Where did you source yours? Also have some tung sol 6sn7gtb black base/clear glass to try . These smaller signal valves make more difference ? Just playing really but interested in peoples thoughts.

I got mine from an ebay seller, based in the Ukraine, years ago. However, Joe (Black Adder) obtained his more recently, so you might like to PM him and ask where. Here are 4 Melz 6H9C (6SL7s) inside his Croft preamp:

I use the same tubes in my Croft preamp, and in my experience, they trounce pretty much any of the 'premium' NOS varieties, at a fraction of the price. The only other 6SL7s to touch them, in terms of sonics, are these NOS RCA VT-229s:

I use those (as cryo'd matched pairs) in my phono stage, which are also superb. They excel in a slightly different area, sonically, from the 6H9Cs :)

Which ebay seller did you obtain yours from, Joe - do you still have the link? :)
