Sadly my mum passed away 7/7/03 so I have no mum to spoil :(

For those of you who still have a mum what did you get / do for her ? :)

Make the most of parents while you still have them as they are a big loss when gone

Very true words Al. My mum passed in 2001 shortly after 9/11. I was living in the Caymans at the time and couldn't get home as all flights were grounded, a horrible time.

There are many things I miss about my mum - she was an outstanding cook and took time to teach me to cook as well. One of my biggest regrets is all her recipes went with her, as they were in her head. So top tip for anyone with a mum who is a good cook, preserve those recipes and keep them alive. Sadly my father was taken into hospital last night, he's 90 in a few weeks and I dearly hope this is nothing serious.

My Mom passed away in 1991 from bowel cancer that had spread to her liver. My Dad died in 1987 after suffering numerous heart attacks. I hope that those who never speak to their parents ever have a guilty conscience because if you have, as time goes by, you are going to suffer. I miss my Mom so much as I miss telling her about all of the things I have achieved over the years, all things she would have been so proud of. It is a lonely place without Mom and Dad.

Your sentiments are spot on, Al! My parents have just left, after having been very much spoiled with a superb lunch (and lots of nice wine and liqueurs), and as well as that mum had some lovely flowers and chocolates, as well as a nice card.

It's been a lovely day and she thoroughly enjoyed herself! :)

Marco.

My mums passed away too. One thing though I passed the local flower shop and was disgusted to see flowers on sale for £29.99 a bunch you would normally get for £9.99 robbing barsteward..
