View Full Version : 3-way play...
Running the hifi 3-way through the pre-amp. Valves powering the scoops, solid state running the mids/tops (Roger LS7t)
No real advantage gained, as opposed to just running the new 2 way 15" box... But always fun to try these things out... it does sound nice though! :)

Hi Maarten
Well, OK, I have to admit those system photos have me baffled! :)
Could you kind of walk me through the system, explaining each bit as you go along!
1200 turntable running into a Jo Red, custom-built Swiss, pre-amp (phono stage/crossover/mixer/eq/parametic eq), bass outputs to valve amp driving 15" folded horns, mid/tops output summed to audiolab amp driving Roger LS7t... hope that helps.
I use to run custom-built reggae soundsystems, since retired. This is my home version...
(There's also a DBX compressor shown in the photo, sitting above the pre-amp, but it's not used...)
Its quite a system Maarten.....something special and I love it....
And now with added Garrard, strictly lo-fi style :)

I love the look of the Garrard - bet it doesn't sound half bad, Maarten, especially with older music! :)

Jah Shaka!
It warmed my heart when the Selectors returned to idlers and began to carry pairs of 4hf around in suitcases with their 45s.
Have you retained the mono wiring and ceramic? Or have you modified the arm for stereo reproduction?
