Hi all, My name is Bryce and in Sydney, Australia. Just discovered AOS ad looking forward to participating here.

I've just reverted back to a stereo set up due to a work relocation from a dedicated 7.1 theatre room which I won't be able to replicate now that I'm back in the city.

I've decided to go down the computer track and am running JRMC19 on a Dell laptop. This feeds a Yellowtek Puc 2 lite USB / spdif converter into a W4S DAC2 via AES/ESB. An Aaron XX Anniversary performs the amplification duties and. A pair of Orpheus Apollo floor standers round out the set up.

Still playing around with all of this currently and looking forward to learning what I can from all involved here .

That sounds like a good set up you've put together. There are many here that are going down the computer route - I'm 50/50 vinyl and flac these days, CD player not being used very much now for the last couple of years.

What music do you like to listen to?

Thank you. I omitted to mention that I also have an Oppo BDP 83 which I run via the analogue outs directly into the Aaron for SACD 's.

Music wise I listen to pretty much anything from classical through to rock. Female vocal, etc. bit of an eclectic mix really.

I'm archiving my cd's to FLAC but have a lot of old mp3's which also get a run

Hi Martin,

Thank you. Yes, the Oppo goes well. It has a multiple region mod as well which makes it great for Blu Rays I snap up from your neck of the woods or the U.S on Amazon or similar.

The SACDs are great using the analogue outs. I have a pair of Atlas Equator interconnects arriving tomorrow which will give me the opportunity to check out the " do cables make a difference " paradigm

Hi Al, I do have a bit of a soft spot for vinyl. It's what got me started all those years ago and still have a number of records safely stored. I do have plans to snap up a TT one of these days. Will need a phono capable amp to go with it though. Not sure what that looks like yet.

I am looking forward to resurrecting them though.

If you have a spare line in you will be better with a dedicated phono I would think. Loads to choose and means you get to keep your system the same......oh, and welcome.:eek:

Have been perusing the FS forums here in Aus for a phono pre, I just know that this is going to get ugly and I'll be stumping up for a new TT and cartridge as well...

It's a slippery slope this love of good sound isn't it !
