Hi all, long time no see ... thought I'd pop by to mention a recent hifi related victory.
I may be way behind the curve, I've let this hifi lark fall by the wayside a bit...
Anyway, since apple have re-introduced "integer mode" in Maverics, I have been waiting for the rest of the pieces to fall into place to take advantage of it.
I use jriver as it caused me the least amount of troubles when I had a PC and I cant be arsed to convert all my flacs to alac to use itunes.
So, Jriver 19.0.100 was released and supported integer mode, but when I switched it on it sent some awful stuttery noises to my DAC.
Well today I thought I would see if they had sorted it ... and It seems they have!
Jriver 19.0.118 not only supports integer mode, but when you use it, music come out rather than stuttery crap! And rather fine sounding music too ... Im not going to claim to hear any real difference, but if nothing else, my confidence that the dac is receiving exactly what it should be makes me feel satisfied!
Not that I understand all the letters and numbers but they seem to be saying the right things too from what I can work out??

Thats me the wife and Connie, who is now hurtling toward 3.
Hannah has been told she should apply for oxford by her college which is pretty cool I think!
Work is pretty good ... apart from having to speak to David Brook almost every day, but you know how it is... rough with the smooth and all that ... He took me for a lala's when I went to visit, so I shouldnt complain too much! ;) :D
Other than that, spend far too much time obsessing over cameras these days ... you gotta have a hobby eh?! ;)
Hows life your end?

Congratulations!
Yes, they grow up so fast, doesn't seem long since my daughter was that age, she's 21 now.
Life's good, if eventful. Michelle ended up in hospital a couple of months ago with meningitis, thankfully the viral kind, unpleasant but not dangerous, and she's just been in again for a hernia op. I keep telling her she's jinxed. :-)

Lovely photo, glad everything went well. Nice to see you back on too. As I am a PC guy, not mac I can't say much but jriver 17 or 18 work well for me.
Regards and best wishes

Hi Hamish,
Nice to see you around again. Congrats on the wedding - well done, getting Hannah 'under contract' before she realises how much above your weight you're punching  . Oxford sounds good but will put an extra burden on you I guess - well worth shouldering though in IMO - so congrats to Hannah also.
Latest news from me is that my son and his partner have recently (23rd December) presented us with twin boy grandchildren :stalks:   . They were born by emergency 'C' section 9 weeks early and weighed in at around 3lbs each but now are doing brilliantly at 13 weeks old and 11ibs each. Looks like some of my music listening time will be given over to child alarm listening  .
Now let's see you around here a bit more again, you've been missed.
Cheers,
Dave.
